HENRY GLASS PRESENTS THE CREATIVE LABORATORY OF RENATA BONFANTI

01/12/2016 |

A unique opportunity to come and see first hand the work of Renata Bonfanti opening the doors to his weaving workshop on 27 November, 8 December and Sundays, 4, 11, 18 December from 15:00 to 19:00.

Fine textile works woven in the design-industrial tradition and with architecture in the weaving workshop of Renata Bonfanti.

Located in Mussolente (VI) in a modern building set in the green hills between Bassano and Asolo, the laboratory was built in the late 60s as a place for production and testing.

A large area, a hotbed of art in which it is possible to observe carpets and tapestries at all stages of production, and also tablecloths, curtains, bedspreads and other fabrics that make living comfortable and cozy. The philosophy, the care and effort in design dedicated to the production are the same, whether it’s an evocative tapestry or a furnishing fabric.

The artistic work takes place in the workshop-studio where all the operations are done, from design, to execution, to the show. The designs of Renata Bonfanti are current, the techniques ancient, including hand-weaving of tapestries and carpets. Many pieces made over time are part of prestigious public and private collections.

The artist, winner of the Golden Compass, is a tireless Penelope whose canvas is not “impossible”: her works come to fruition always new, actualized and historical together, as the collection of tapestries created for Henry glass doors, an unprecedented agreement between glass and fabric, a happy combination of delicacy and sensitivity all feminine!
