Private home – New York
The project was requested by our New York client, CFA designs, to meet the needs of the architects involved in the renovation of this residence: the MKCA studio, Michael K Chen Architecture of New York.
The residence is located along Manhattan’s famous Park Avenue. It is a 280 sq. m private apartment that has been renovated and intended for family use.
The Architects thought of two glass partitions to delimit some areas of the house: sliding and swing doors with frosted glass for the kitchen area and sliding doors with extra clear glass for the dining room. Doors divide spaces but at the same time they allow light to pass through.
All doors are framed on four sides and have horizontal crosspieces for the dining area, taking up a typical characteristic of New York private houses.
After analyzing the architect’s drawings, a completely custom product was studied to meet their requests. The project was therefore conceived and realized completely ad hoc by implementing vertical profiles with a horizontal profile that allows the sliding of the doors.
Thanks to the track completely recessed in the false ceiling, each technical element is hidden, making the product essential and clean as requested by the architects.
